The Amaz!ng Panel – Martin Robbins, Andy Lewis, George Hrab, Rebecca Watson, Neil Denny and Tim Farley.
The speakers are giving a round up of what their blogs/podcasts are about and how they feel they fit into a skeptical/rational/critical thinking worldview.
If you have a skill – don’t try and be an all-rounder, fit into your niche; use your skills to make a difference.
Choose your blog title carefully to attract the biggest audience. Andy Lewis gets the most traffic on his Hopi Ear Candles page for people searching on ‘ear candling’.
Use social media to your advantage – cause discussions and engage people via Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Think of a blog/podcast as part of an overall strategy – use offline media as part of your message; newspapers, TV, Skeptics in the Pub, busses…
If you do something good, your audience will find you. Don’t do it because you want to get an audience.
In keeping with general level of TAM London language, the last thing said at the Amaz!ng Panel is “Absolute Bollocks.”
Last TAM London speaker is the president of the JREF, author of Bad Astronomy and Death from the Skies! – Phil Plait.
Back from lunch and the first and the first act on is the always excellent Tim Minchin…
Adam Savage bounds onto the stage with some energy unbecoming of a man who only arrived yesterday.
Glenn Hill on a ridiculous and wonderful fairy story.
First performer on TAM London Day 2 is George Hrab.
